Pongara National Park in pictures.
Located directly across the Komo estuary from Libreville, Pongara National Park offers an accessible yet wild escape. The park is characterized by its sandy beaches, coastal forests, and sprawling mangroves. It is a critical nesting site for the world's largest sea turtles, the Leatherbacks, which can be seen laying eggs from October to February. The park's varied habitats also support monkeys, buffalo, and elephants, while its waters become a nursery for humpback whales during the southern winter.
