Cape Verde
Atlantic islands, music, and volcanic landscapes.
About Cape Verde
Floating in the mid-Atlantic, Cape Verde is a mesmerizing archipelago of ten volcanic islands where Portuguese influence and African soul blend into a unique cultural harmony known as 'Morabeza.' From the moon-like craters of Fogo to the emerald valleys of Santo Antão and the endless white sands of Sal, each island offers a distinct world to discover. The capital of culture, Mindelo, pulses with the melancholic rhythms of Morna—the music made world-famous by Cesária Évora—while the vibrant Carnival celebrations reflect a spirit as fiery as the islands' volcanic origins. Cape Verde is a land of dramatic contrasts: rugged mountains, colonial architecture, and turquoise waters that attract windsurfers from across the globe. Whether you are trekking through coffee plantations on Fogo, lounging on the pristine shores of Santa Maria, or exploring the cobblestone streets of historic Cidade Velha, Cape Verde enchants with its slow-paced island life and a deep-rooted hospitality that welcomes every traveler as a friend.
Best time to go
The best time to visit is from November to June during the dry season. For wind sports, December to March offers ideal conditions, while October to December is best for hiking when the islands are at their greenest.
