Loango National Park is one of Africa's most iconic wilderness areas, famous for its 'surfing' megafauna. Here, the equatorial rainforest meets the ocean, creating a landscape of lagoons, mangroves, and pristine beaches. During the rainy season, forest elephants and hippos frequently emerge from the jungle to walk along the surf. The park is also a haven for western lowland gorillas, chimpanzees, and a spectacular array of birdlife, while the offshore waters host migrating humpback whales from July to October.
