Natural wonder
In Uganda, East Africa
Lake Bunyonyi in pictures.
Nestled among steeply terraced hills in Uganda's southwest, Lake Bunyonyi is one of the deepest lakes in Africa and dotted with twenty-nine small islands. Free of crocodiles and hippos, it is a rare African lake safe for swimming, canoeing and lazy days on the water. It makes a tranquil retreat after the exertion of gorilla trekking nearby.
