Niokolo-Koba National Park

Sprawling across the country's southeast, Niokolo-Koba is a UNESCO World Heritage Site protecting one of West Africa's last great tracts of savanna and riverine forest. Its varied landscapes shelter lions, leopards, hippos, antelope, and the rare Derby eland, along with hundreds of bird species. The Gambia River carves through the park, sustaining its rich web of wildlife.
