Djoudj National Bird Sanctuary in pictures.
On the Senegal River delta, Djoudj is one of the world's most important bird sanctuaries, a UNESCO-listed wetland where some three million birds gather during the northern winter. Boat trips glide past colonies of white pelicans, flamingos, herons, and spoonbills against a backdrop of reeds and open water. It is a paradise for birdwatchers and nature photographers.
