Tarangire National Park in pictures.
Tarangire National Park is named for the Tarangire River that winds through it, drawing large herds of elephants and other wildlife, especially in the dry season when water is scarce elsewhere. The park is famous for its dramatic landscape of towering, centuries-old baobab trees scattered across golden savanna. It is one of the best places in Tanzania to see big elephant gatherings and a rich variety of birdlife.
