Nyerere National Park (Selous) in pictures.
Nyerere National Park, carved from the northern part of the former Selous Game Reserve, is one of the largest protected areas in Africa, threaded by the wide Rufiji River and its network of channels and lakes. The remote southern setting supports elephants, hippos, crocodiles, wild dogs, and large lion populations, with boat safaris offering a different way to view wildlife. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it remains far less crowded than the northern parks.
