Stone Town, Zanzibar in pictures.
Stone Town is the historic heart of Zanzibar City, a maze of narrow lanes lined with merchant houses, mosques, and ornately carved wooden doors that reflect centuries of Swahili, Arab, Persian, Indian, and European influence. Once a hub of the spice and slave trades, it remains a living town of bustling bazaars, seafront palaces, and waterfront fish grills. The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
