High Atlas Mountains in pictures.
The High Atlas rises sharply south of Marrakech, its valleys dotted with terraced fields, walnut groves and mudbrick Berber villages such as Imlil. The range crowns at Jebel Toubkal, the tallest mountain in North Africa at 4,167 metres and a magnet for trekkers. Winding passes like Tizi n'Tichka link the lowlands to the desert beyond.
