Aït Benhaddou in pictures.
Rising above the Ounila River, Aït Benhaddou is a ksar of red mudbrick towers and houses huddled behind defensive walls. Dating largely to the seventeenth century, it once guarded the caravan road between the Sahara and Marrakech. Its dramatic silhouette has served as a backdrop for films from Lawrence of Arabia to Game of Thrones.
