Know before you go: timing, entry, health, and logistics for Cape Verde.
- When to go
- The best time to visit is from November to June during the dry season. For wind sports, December to March offers ideal conditions, while October to December is best for hiking when the islands are at their greenest.
- Visa and entry
- US and EU citizens can enter Cape Verde visa-free for up to 30 days. However, all visitors must register online through the EASE portal at least five days before arrival and pay a mandatory airport security fee (TSA) of approximately 3,400 CVE (approx. $33 USD).
- Health
- No mandatory vaccinations are required unless arriving from a Yellow Fever risk zone. Recommended vaccinations include Hepatitis A and Typhoid. Cape Verde was certified malaria-free in 2024, but mosquito repellent is still advised to prevent other mosquito-borne illnesses.
- Currency
- Cape Verdean Escudo (CVE). Note that the Euro is widely accepted at a fixed rate in tourist areas.

- Internal travel is arranged for you: private guided road transfers and light-aircraft hops between parks and regions, with airport meet-and-greet throughout.
