Nxai Pan National Park in pictures.
Just north of Makgadikgadi, Nxai Pan is a fossil lakebed of open grassland that bursts with life after the rains, hosting one of Africa's great zebra migrations. The park is famous for Baines' Baobabs, a cluster of ancient trees immortalised in a nineteenth-century painting and little changed since. Springbok, giraffe, lion and cheetah are drawn to its seasonal flush of grazing.
