In Madagascar, Southern Africa
Ranomafana National Park in pictures.
Set in the eastern highlands, Ranomafana drapes steep, mist-wrapped hills in dense rainforest threaded by the rushing Namorona River and its waterfalls. The park shelters a dozen lemur species, including the golden bamboo lemur whose discovery helped lead to its creation, plus a wealth of birds, frogs and chameleons. It forms part of a UNESCO World Heritage cluster of Madagascar's rainforests.
