The Great Migration is not a single event but a year-round loop, and the Maasai Mara catches its most dramatic act.
From roughly July to October the herds push north from the Serengeti, and the Mara River crossings, where wildebeest brave the current and the crocodiles, become the headline moment. If that is what you have pictured, aim for late July through September.
That said, the shoulder weeks have their own appeal: fewer vehicles, softer light, and predators that are no less active. An advisor can read the season and place you where the action is likely to be, rather than where the calendar says it should.
