Travel guide
Know before you go: timing, entry, health, and logistics for Morocco.
- When to go
- The best time to visit Morocco is during the spring (March to May) or autumn (September to November). These months offer mild, pleasant temperatures across the country, avoiding the extreme heat of the summer and the cold nights of the winter.
- Visa and entry
- Citizens of the United States and the European Union do not require a visa for tourism stays of up to 90 days. Requirements include a passport valid for at least six months beyond the date of entry, at least one blank passport page, and occasionally proof of onward travel or sufficient funds.
- Health
- No vaccinations are mandatory for entry unless arriving from a country with a risk of Yellow Fever transmission. However, Hepatitis A and Typhoid vaccinations are highly recommended. Rabies vaccination is also advised for those planning to spend significant time in rural areas.
- Currency
- Moroccan Dirham (MAD)
- Language
- Arabic and Berber; French widely used
- Getting around
- Internal travel is arranged for you: private guided road transfers and light-aircraft hops between parks and regions, with airport meet-and-greet throughout.
