- When to go
- The dry season from November to May is the best time to visit, offering sunny days, low humidity, and the best conditions for birdwatching and beach activities.
- Visa and entry
- EU citizens can generally enter The Gambia visa-free for up to 90 days. US citizens require a visa, which can be obtained on arrival at Banjul International Airport (approx. $100 USD). All travelers must pay a $20 USD airport security fee upon arrival and departure.
- Health
- Proof of Yellow Fever vaccination is mandatory for entry. Recommended vaccinations include Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and Tetanus. Malaria prophylaxis is strongly advised year-round due to high transmission risk.
