- Visa and entry
- US and EU citizens are required to obtain a visa for entry. The most efficient method is the e-Visa, available through the official portal (evisa.gov.et). Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival. e-Visa holders must enter the country via Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. Single-entry visas are typically issued for 30 or 90 days.
- Health
- A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is mandatory if arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever transmission. Recommended vaccinations include Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and Polio. Malaria prophylaxis is strongly advised for travelers visiting low-altitude regions, particularly in the south and west, though Addis Ababa is generally low-risk due to its high elevation.
